The black upper swaps out the OG Taxi’s leather construction in favor of a soft suede. Heel tabs feature a traditional “Quality Inspired by the Greatest Player Ever” text hit, and there’s also an embroidered yellow “TWO 3” graphic that runs the length of each shoe’s throat. Gold tooling and a red Jumpman logo on the tongue add a luxurious feel, while the top half is completed with a black suede mudguard and black plastic midfoot piece.

Down below, the white midsole features a yellow carbon fiber plate and Zoom Air pods loaded into the heel and forefoot. The AJ12 was in fact the first-ever Air Jordan silhouette to utilize Zoom Air cushioning, a responsive system that designer Tinker Hatfield likely found perfect for Michael Jordan‘s fierce-yet-calculated style of play.
