Chicago, IL (March 20, 2014) – During its third annual Blazing the Trail Benefit Dinner held on March 13th, the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) Midwest Division announced the establishment of its new Ohio Chapter, which will serve the division's mission of providing grants and volunteer support to local community organizations focused on healthcare, education and safety. The chapter will be run out of its Cleveland headquarters by a board of senior industry leaders from top insurance companies in the region, with Jason Warden, regional vice president of The Hartford, serving as Chair.
"Across the country, we can see the significant impact of the work the IICF is doing in bringing the insurance industry together to improve our local communities," said Jason Warden. "With the launch of the new Ohio Chapter, we are excited to extend the IICF's platform to an even broader group of industry professionals who are ready and willing to dedicate their time and efforts to support local Ohio communities."
In the coming year, the Ohio Chapter will be hosting a fundraising event to support local grants programs, as well as participating in national IICF projects such as the annual Week of Giving in October.
The inaugural IICF Ohio Board is comprised of senior industry leaders from across the state representing companies including Chubb, CNA, The Hartford, Wells Fargo Insurance Services, Marsh Berry, The Michael Pender Memorial Fund, Roundstone Insurance, Britton Gallagher, Dawson Insurance, Brower, Oswald, Calfee, Halter & Griswold and Hylant.
